Mountain Grass Unit is a young bluegrass quartet from Birmingham, Alabama, made up of Drury Anderson (mandolin, vocals), Luke Black (guitar, vocals), Josiah Nelson (fiddle, vocals), and Sam Wilson (bass, vocals). Drawing from bluegrass tradition while weaving in country, jazz, funk, rock, and even metal, the band blends tradition with bold exploration, drawing inspiration from artists like Tony Rice and Billy Strings. Their 2024 EP Runnin From Trouble was produced by Mike Harris (Old Crow Medicine Show) at Nashvilles Hartland Studios. The band has logged nearly 100 national tour dates, sold out over thirty headline shows, and played standout festival sets at Telluride Bluegrass, DelFest, Northlands, and WinterWonderGrass.
