American musical duo from Columbus, Ohio, formed in 2009 by vocalist Tyler Joseph. Since 2011 the lineup has been Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. Known for genre-blending music that fuses alternative rock, hip hop, electropop, punk, and reggae. Broke through with Blurryface (2015), which made them the first artist to have every song on an album certified gold or higher by the RIAA. Known for high-energy live shows and elaborate fictional narratives woven through their albums.
