The Chats are an Australian pub-punk shed-rock trio formed in 2016 in Noosaville on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The current lineup is Eamon Sandwith (bass/vocals), Matt Boggis (drums), and Josh Hardy (guitar). They met in high school music class and went viral in 2017 with their song Smoko, which racked up millions of YouTube views within days. Known for their larrikin songs about Australian culture, pub feeds, and smoke breaks, they have released two EPs and two studio albums: High Risk Behaviour (2020) and Get Fucked (2022). They have toured extensively across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Europe, sharing stages with Cosmic Psychos and Queens of the Stone Age.
