Clipse
Virginia Beach, US
hip hop · coke rap · southern hip hop · east coast hip hop
American hip-hop duo from Virginia Beach, Virginia, formed in 1994 by brothers Gene "Malice" Thornton and Terrence "Pusha T" Thornton. Discovered by Pharrell Williams, Clipse became known for their sophisticated lyricism over avant-garde Neptunes production, with subject matter rooted in the illegal drug trade. Their debut Lord Willin' (2002) reached number four on the Billboard 200 and went gold, while Hell Hath No Fury (2006) is widely regarded as a classic. After a lengthy hiatus, the duo reunited for their fourth album Let God Sort Em Out (2025), released via Roc Nation Distribution to widespread acclaim.
