Legendary Argentine singer known as "La Negra" and "the voice of the voiceless ones." A founding figure of the nueva canción movement, Sosa devoted her career to Latin American folk music and social justice. Persecuted and exiled during Argentina's military dictatorship, she returned to perform at venues worldwide including Carnegie Hall and the Sistine Chapel. Recipient of six Latin Grammy Awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award.
