Isimeme "Naomi" Udu, known as hemlocke springs, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer from Concord, North Carolina. Born to Nigerian immigrant parents, she studied biology at Spelman College and earned a master's in health informatics from Dartmouth before pursuing music full-time. She gained viral recognition in 2022 when her self-produced single "Girlfriend" exploded on TikTok. After releasing the EP going...going...GONE! in 2023 and opening for Doja Cat and Chappell Roan on tour, she released her debut album The Apple Tree Under the Sea in February 2026. Her sound weaves hyper-personal storytelling into exuberant, 80s-inspired art-pop anthems.
