Mariah Amani Buckles, known as Mariah the Scientist, is an American R&B singer and songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. She dropped out of St. Johns University where she studied biology to pursue music, inspiring her stage name. Discovered by Tory Lanez, she released her debut album Master in 2019. Her fourth album Hearts Sold Separately debuted at number one on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart, powered by the platinum single Burning Blue.
