The xx are an English indie pop band from Wandsworth, London, formed in 2005. The trio consists of Romy Madley Croft (vocals, guitar), Oliver Sim (vocals, bass) and Jamie xx (Jamie Smith, production, beats, MPC). Known for their minimalist, atmospheric sound blending indie pop with alternative dance and electronic textures, their debut album xx (2009) won the 2010 Mercury Prize. They followed with Coexist (2012) and I See You (2017), both critically acclaimed.
