The Saints

The Saints are an influential Australian punk rock band formed in Brisbane in 1974 by vocalist Chris Bailey, guitarist Ed Kuepper and drummer Ivor Hay. Their 1976 debut single (I am) Stranded made them the first punk band outside the US to release a record, pre-dating the Sex Pistols, The Damned and The Clash. Bob Geldof credited them alongside the Sex Pistols and Ramones as one of three bands that changed rock music in the seventies, and they are considered pioneers of punk rock and central figures in Australia contribution to the international punk movement.
