Modest Mouse is an American indie rock band formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington, led by vocalist and guitarist Isaac Brock. Originally a trio with drummer Jeremiah Green and bassist Eric Judy, the band gained critical acclaim with The Lonesome Crowded West (1997) and The Moon & Antarctica (2000), then achieved mainstream success with Good News for People Who Love Bad News (2004), powered by the hit single "Float On". Their sound blends angular guitar riffs, unconventional song structures, and darkly humorous lyrics. Brock remains the sole constant member following Green's passing in December 2022 and Judy's departure in 2012.
