Composed of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott and drummer Brandon Fried, the band fuses rock instrumentation with R&B and hip-hop aesthetics. They broke through in 2012 with the singles "Female Robbery" and the multi-platinum hit "Sweater Weather", later releasing their debut album I Love You. via Columbia Records in 2013. Follow-up records include Wiped Out! (2015), Hard to Imagine the Neighbourhood Ever Changing (2018), Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones (2020), and their deluxe reissue in 2022.
