Brighton-based British bass music producer Alexander Hamdi, known mononymously as Hamdi, has been crafting electronic music since the age of 12. Originally from Oxford, he relocated to Brighton to join the Southpoint label. His signature fusion of dubstep, UK garage, and grime — defined by rolling basslines and infectious rhythms — has earned support from Skrillex, Fred Again.., Zeds Dead, Porter Robinson, and Knife Party. His breakout 2017 collaboration "Show Me" with Sammy Virji took the UK bass scene by storm, while "Skanka" became one of the biggest dubstep tracks of 2022. He has released on respected labels including Deep Medi Musik, 1985 Music, Deadbeats, and Southpoint.
