Omar Lye-Fook MBE is an English singer, songwriter, and actor from Canterbury, Kent, widely regarded as the father of British neo-soul. His debut single "There's Nothing Like This" reached No. 14 on the UK Singles Chart in 1991. Classically trained at Chetham's School of Music and the Guildhall School of Music, he blends soul, jazz, Latin, and Caribbean influences. He has collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Leon Ware, Lamont Dozier, and Syreeta, and was appointed MBE in 2012 for services to music.
