Musical project of songwriter and producer JohnAnthony Rodriguez from New Jersey. Drawing on his Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage, his bilingual songs blend Latin soul, indie pop, R&B, and synth pop with warmly retro production. Started making beats in high school, learned recording and guitar during college, and took the name "54" from Studio 54 inspired by his love of 70s and 80s pop and disco. Found viral success with the 2024 retro soul cut "Heaven Knows" and released debut EP First Works in 2025.
