American rock band formed in Seattle in 1994 by Dave Grohl, former drummer of Nirvana. Built on loud-quiet-loud dynamics influenced by post-punk and grunge, the Foo Fighters have become one of the most successful rock acts in modern history, winning 15 Grammy Awards and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. Current members include Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee, and Ilan Rubin.
