NYC hardcore punk band formed in 1982 in Astoria, Queens. Led by founding vocalist Jimmy G (James Drescher), Murphy's Law is one of the longest-running bands from the New York hardcore scene. Known for blending hardcore punk with elements of ska, funk, and crossover thrash, they became the first NYHC act to play arena shows after opening for the Beastie Boys on the Licensed to Ill tour. The band has released five studio albums from 1986 to 2001 and returned with new material in 2025.
