Life on Planets
Baltimore, US
house · deep house · indie dance · indie soul
Life on Planets is the solo project of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Phil Celeste. Emerging from Baltimore's underground warehouse scene, he blends soul, R&B, bossa nova, reggae, and house into a distinctive fusion marked by sultry vocals, passionate guitar licks, and thumping beats. His releases on Wolf + Lamb, Dirtybird, Kitsuné, Soul Clap, and Fool's Gold have earned tens of millions of streams. Future Music Magazine praised his "impressive ability to create beguiling and intricate personal expression that also packs a dance floor punch," while Les Inrockuptibles called him "a worthy heir to the great Arthur Russell."
