James Pountney, known as Culture Shock, is a British drum and bass DJ and producer. Introduced to drum and bass in 1996 through London pirate radio, he set up a home studio and released his debut "The Vega EP" on Moving Shadow in 2004. He signed with RAM Records in 2006 after catching the attention of Andy C. With over 20 million global streams and acclaimed tracks like "Visions", "Lost", and his remix of Sub Focus's "Airplane", he has become one of the most consistent producers in drum and bass. His artist-curated projects Sequence (2019) and Sequel (2022) were released on RAM Records. He performed a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and created the immersive VISIONS/AV live show, touring internationally. He is also part of the WORSHIP collective.
