Barry Can't Swim is the stage name of Edinburgh-born, London-based Scottish electronic music producer and DJ Joshua Spence Mainnie (born 22 August 1992). Known for blending jazz-inflected instrumentation, house rhythms, and global influences with emotive vocal samples to create euphoric, dancefloor-ready music, he released his critically acclaimed debut album *When Will We Land?* in October 2023 via Ninja Tune, which reached #12 on the UK Albums Chart, won BBC Radio 1's Best Dance Album, and was shortlisted for the 2024 Mercury Prize. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, he was also nominated for Best Dance Act at the 2024 BRIT Awards and placed top 3 in the BBC Sound of 2025 poll.
