Alok (full name Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo) is a Brazilian DJ, musician, and record producer born on August 26, 1991, in Goiânia, Brazil. He is best known for pioneering the 'Brazilian Bass' genre — a fusion of tech-house, techno, and Brazilian rhythms — and for his global breakthrough 2016 single 'Hear Me Now,' which became the first Brazilian track to surpass 100 million Spotify streams. He has consistently ranked high on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll, making him the highest-ranked Brazilian DJ in history. Aside from his music career, he is known for his extensive philanthropic work through the Alok Institute and his popular playable character in the video game Free Fire.
