The Resistance was a Swedish death metal supergroup formed in 2011 in Gothenburg by former members of In Flames, Grave, and The Haunted. Featuring vocalist Marco Aro (The Haunted), guitarist Jesper Stromblad (ex-In Flames), drummer Christofer Barkensjo, bassist Rob Hakemo, and guitarist Daniel Antonsson, the band blended old-school death metal with 1980s thrash and hardcore aggression. They released two studio albums, Scars (2013) and Coup de Grace (2016), along with the EPs Rise from Treason (2013) and Torture Tactics (2015) via earMUSIC, before disbanding in 2016.
