The Black Crowes
Atlanta, US
blues rock · hard rock · southern rock · jam band
The Black Crowes are an American rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1984 by brothers Chris Robinson (vocals) and Rich Robinson (guitar). Originally called Mr. Crowe's Garden, they adopted their current name and released their multi-platinum debut Shake Your Money Maker on Def American in 1990, featuring hits like "Hard to Handle" and "She Talks to Angels." Blending blues rock, southern rock, and jam-band sensibilities, they were named Best New American Band by Rolling Stone readers in 1990. The Robinson brothers remained the band's only constants through numerous lineup changes, breakups, and reunions, most recently reuniting in 2019 and releasing Happiness Bastards in 2024.
