SUNAMI is an American hardcore punk band formed in San Jose, California in 2019. Originally conceived as a short-lived joke band parodying the ignorant style of hardcore, the group is made up of seasoned Bay Area musicians with roots in bands like Gulch, Hands of God, Drain, Spinebreaker, and Lead Dream. They have since become one of the leading voices in Bay Area hardcore, known for their punishing beatdown and metallic hardcore sound on releases like the 2023 LP SUNAMI and the 2025 Coast To Coast Split.
