Nicolaas Douwe Douwma (born 13 April 1982), known as Sub Focus, is an English drum and bass producer, DJ and sound engineer from Guildford, UK. A self-taught producer from age 13, he was signed to RAM Records sister label Frequency in 2003 after Andy C heard his demo, releasing breakthrough tracks like Acid Test and X-Ray. His self-titled debut album arrived in 2009, followed by Torus (2013), Portals (2020, with Wilkinson) and Evolve (2023), which won Best Album at the Drum and Bass Arena Awards.
