Atlanta rapper, DJ, and producer Jonathan H. Smith, known as Lil Jon, is regarded as a progenitor of crunk music. Rising through the Atlanta club scene in the 1990s, he fronted Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz and produced era-defining hits like "Get Low" and Usher's "Yeah!" In 2013 he crossed into EDM with DJ Snake on "Turn Down for What." A five-time Grammy nominee, he has since expanded into wellness, releasing guided meditation albums and launching the Soul Chakra brand.
