The vocalist, producer Shannon Funchess has captivated audiences of all ages with cathartic performances since LIGHT ASYLUM emerged in Brooklyn, New York in 2009 at the forefront of a movement turned full blown revival of 80’s and 90’s dystopic electronic dance music. Inspired by the pioneers in the undergrounds of Detroit Techno, Belgian New Beat, EBM, Bat Cave and Chicago House, the collaborative project has pushed the techno-punk, cyber-goth sound of the past into the future, across festival and nightclub stages to dance floors around the globe.
