LCD Soundsystem is an American dance-punk band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002 by James Murphy, co-founder of DFA Records. Known for blending electronic, dance, punk, and post-punk influences, the band gained acclaim with their debut single "Losing My Edge" and went on to release critically celebrated albums including their self-titled debut (2005), Sound of Silver (2007), This Is Happening (2010), and American Dream (2017). After a farewell concert at Madison Square Garden in 2011, the band reunited in 2016. Members include Murphy on vocals, Nancy Whang on keyboards, Pat Mahoney on drums, Tyler Pope on bass, Al Doyle on guitar, and Korey Richey on synthesizer.
