punk rock · riot grrrl · alternative rock
Brazilian punk rocker and self-described Latin riot grrrl, Karen Dió began playing shows as a teenager in the coastal city of Santos, near São Paulo. She was the singer and frontwoman of rock band Violet Soda until the band split in 2021, after which she moved to the UK and launched her solo career. Her music centers on feminism and empowerment, with an unfiltered, non-conformist style that has earned her praise from Kerrang! and NME. Her 2023 single "Sick Ride" went viral, and she has since toured with Sum 41 and Limp Bizkit. She is signed to Hopeless Records.
