German dubstep producer Christian Fial, known as INFEKT, has been shaping the riddim and trench dubstep scene since 2011. Born in Bayreuth, Germany, he was introduced to production through FL Studio by his father and quickly gravitated toward dark, minimalistic basslines. After joining the influential Monsters crew alongside Shiverz and Subfiltronik, his career accelerated with the breakout single Orgalorg on Disciple Records. Now based in Montreal, INFEKT has released on Monstercat, Bassrush, Disciple, NSD Black Label, and Duploc, and has performed at Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, and Rampage. He is also a respected production tutor and advocate for renaming riddim to trench.
