GitkinFestival appearances

Grammy-nominated producer and multi-instrumentalist Brian J Gitkin, known as Gitkin, blends cumbia, North African, Middle Eastern, and psychedelic rock influences with his New Orleans-steeped sound. Originally from Brooklyn, he is the mastermind behind the funk ensemble Pimps of Joytime and has worked with artists like Cedric Burnside, Bernard Purdie, and Cyril Neville. His self-described outer-national twang funk creates a cinematic journey through primal, rootsy sounds and exotic global rhythms.
