G-REX is the stage name of Detroit-based producer Jake Sweeney, whose origins in bass music date back to 2015. After a breakout 2018 that saw the release of "Babatunde" with PEEKABOO on Liquid Stranger's WAKAAN label, he quickly established himself as a bass music trendsetter. His dark, high-energy sound fuses trap and dubstep with sinister sound design inspired by horror films, earning him releases on OWSLA/Atlantic, Deadbeats, Disciple, Never Say Die, Subsidia, and WAKAAN. He has toured as support for Excision and Liquid Stranger, and performed at festivals including Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, Shambhala, and HARD Summer.
