Friko is one of the breakout bands from Chicago's buzzing indie scene. Founded in 2019 by vocalist/guitarist Niko Kapetan and drummer Bailey Minzenberger, who first met at Evanston Township High School, the band has since expanded into a four-piece with guitarist Korgan Robb and bassist David Fuller. Their debut album Where We've Been, Where We Go from Here (2024) landed on best-of-the-year lists from Pitchfork and NME, earning acclaim from Rolling Stone, Paste, NPR Music, and SPIN. Their sophomore album Something Worth Waiting For, produced by Grammy-winning producer John Congleton, blends noise-rock, avant-garde classical, and 70s-era symphonic balladry.
