Chicago-born DJ and producer Joseph Manumaleuna, known as DJ Hyperactive, is a key figure in the evolution of US techno. Emerging from Chicago's influential early-90s scene, he gained instant international recognition and is memorialized as one of Daft Punk's Teachers. Over his career he has produced over 100 remixes and original tracks across labels like Missile, Droid, CLR, and his own 4 Track Recordings, with classics including Venus and Wide Open. A resident at Smart Bar Chicago, he has played legendary venues worldwide from Berghain and Tresor in Berlin to Movement in Detroit.
