Automatic

post-punk · new wave · egg punk · synth-punk
Automatic is a post-punk trio from Los Angeles formed in 2017, consisting of Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Halle Saxon (bass, vocals), and Lola Dompé (drums, vocals). The three met while immersed in LA's DIY music scene and took their name from the Go-Go's track "Automatic" off Beauty and the Beat. Signed to Stones Throw Records, the band plays a coolly detached form of new wave and post-punk marked by driving rhythms and droning synthesizers. Their discography includes Signal (2019), Excess (2022), and Is It Now? (2025). They have toured with acts including Bauhaus, Tame Impala, Parquet Courts, and IDLES.
